Introducing the new Mercedes-Benz EQS

Mercedes-Benz are expanding their Mercedes-EQ range with the introduction of the new EQS this spring.  With the tagline ‘designed with purpose’, both the interior and exterior have been created with a luxurious feel with all the core elements you’d expect from the brand.

There has been much anticipation about the arrival of this new model, and we can quickly see why.  Externally a single bow spans the entire vehicle, with other features including flush door handles, tail lamps in 3D helix design, and an elegant Black Panel radiator grille.

On the inside, the MBUX Hyperscreen offers a large touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard, with 80% of the most frequent interactions accessible directly, without switching apps.

The detail:

There are three model options for you to look at with additional elements added in for each specification:

  • AMG Line: With AMG body styling, this model comes with KEYLESS-GO, a panoramic roof, privacy glass, heated seats (in both front and rear) and 20” AMG 5-spoke light alloy wheels as standard.
  • AMG Line Premium: In addition to the above, this model includes 21” AMG light-alloy wheels, Digital light with Light band, 360-degree camera, active ambient lighting and 10 degree Rear Axle Steering.
  • AMG Line Premium Plus: The highest spec, this model also includes 21” multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, Remote Parking functionality, Head up display and the coveted MBUX interior assistant (front).

Charging and range

Advertising an electric range of 453 miles, the EQS will soon be one of the most sought-after among EV drivers with such an extensive range.  Its intuitive intelligent regeneration technology allows the vehicle to learn from your driving style and maximise its power ensuring you get the best range possible whatever the distance of drive you’re undertaking.

With 200kW of max charging output (DC) available, Mercedes-Benz advise a full charge in around 31 minutes at a rapid charging station.

Summary

Designers of the EQS have been careful to ensure that style doesn’t forfeit comfort, with a generous interior space combined with measures to reduce driving noise.  Technology plays its part with digital headlamp technology and an enhanced MBUX Hyperscreen adding to the overall driving experience.  We know the EQS will be a popular choice for those looking for an EV with great range and a more luxurious drive.
