Buyers Beware! – Prices look to increase from May

The vehicle leasing market is moving quickly once again, and clients should be aware of an important development. A number of major leasing funders are expected to review pricing from 4th May, against a backdrop of rising logistics costs, supply chain pressure, and growing global uncertainty. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East, combined with disruption to key shipping routes, has added fresh cost pressure across vehicle supply and delivery networks. In short: the market is tightening.

Why this matters

Promotional leasing campaigns are typically committed to for a meaningful period once launched. They are designed to create confidence and stability in the market.

What makes this situation particularly notable is that several offers introduced only recently have already been flagged for review from 4th May. That tells its own story.

Behind the scenes, pressures are building quickly enough that funders are reconsidering pricing far sooner than normal. We are already seeing examples of rates being amended without notice, with some monthly rentals rising by £10–£15 per month on quotations that had not yet been formally secured. When markets behave like this, timing matters.

Securing your pricing

Orders placed now can secure current pricing before any expected revisions take effect. In many cases, vehicles remain available for delivery through to October at those agreed rates, offering clients the opportunity to lock in strong terms now while maintaining flexibility on delivery timing.

That said, regardless of market pressures, our role as your advisor doesn’t change. While market timing can create opportunity, we are equally clear that no client should feel pressured into proceeding before they are ready. Our role is not to push decisions, but rather to provide clear, honest advice so clients can act with confidence when the timing is right for them.

Markets reward decisiveness. When value appears, it rarely waits around. If you would like tailored advice on securing the right vehicle before pricing changes arrive, speak with P+B today.
