At P+B, we believe it’s our service that makes the biggest difference. While we’re proud to offer great cars, what matters most to us are the people who drive them.

That means if you’re going to drive our cars, it’s important you learn who drives us. That’s why we’re back with another edition of our ‘Meet the Team’ series!

Next up is Rory, one of our Business Development and Relationship Managers. Rory joined P+B in 2024, and has quickly become a key part of our Salary Sacrifice team, guiding clients through their journey to electric and supporting employers and employees alike.

Without further ado, let’s find out more about Rory and why he’s the perfect fit for P+B… and for you.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I grew up in Edinburgh, though my family roots stretch from Paisley to the Bahamas. My parents run their own business, and I think that entrepreneurial spirit rubbed off on me early.

I was always passionate about motorsport, though at 6’6” I quickly realised I wasn’t going to make it as a racing driver! Instead, I studied mechanical and motorsport engineering, spending a placement year designing racetracks. One of my proudest achievements was contributing to the FIA World Rallycross track in Cape Town, which went on to host the season finale.

After university, I threw myself into the racing world, working as a mechanic in the Porsche Carrera Cup. It was exciting but relentless, and after COVID I moved back to Edinburgh to reset. That’s when I met my wife, Elena, and later joined Genesis before eventually finding my way to P+B. I started in March 2024, the day after my wedding! and haven’t looked back since.

Outside of work, I’ve always had a passion for cars. My first was a Hyundai i20 (which is still in the family today), and now I drive a BMW Z4. I’ve also driven a lot of EVs in my time here, and there’s no better way for pottering about the busy city.

Why did you want to work at P+B?

After working in both motorsport and retail automotive, I wanted something that combined my technical knowledge with a more people-first approach. P+B stood out because of its culture. It’s a fast-paced, exciting place to work, but with a real focus on doing the right thing for clients.

I joined just as the Salary Sacrifice side of the business was scaling quickly, so it’s been great to be part of that journey and help shape how we support both companies and their employees.

“For me, it’s about doing the right thing for the client, giving clear advice and making sure they feel confident in their decision.”

Why should people buy a car from you?

I’d like to think I bring a mix of knowledge, honesty, and clarity. One of our core values is Do the Right Thing, and that’s something I take seriously. I’ll always give the advice that best suits the client, even if it means steering them in a different direction.

I’m also process-driven and good at breaking things down clearly. Not everyone wants the hard sell, some people just want someone who listens, understands, and explains things simply. That’s where I think I add real value.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Other than my fifth alarm? The feeling of helping someone get the right car at the right deal. I had a client recently who was after an Audi Q6 Edition 1. By digging around, I managed to source him the Edition 1 Quattro for less than the model he was originally considering. Seeing how delighted he was made my week.

Of course, sales targets matter, but at P+B we’re in the fortunate position of being able to deliver both, helping people make a smart, sustainable choice, and feeling the buzz when everything comes together. And, of course, my family is always a big motivator too.

It’s great to have you on board, Rory. If you’re thinking about joining the P+B fleet through EV Salary Sacrifice, or setting up a Scheme through your business, speak to Rory today!
